Australian DMO
Australian Defence Materiel Organisation purchase S790 Series2 to support battlespace communications equipment.
The DMO (Defence Materiel Organisation) is part of the Australian Department of Defence and has the responsibility to equip and sustain the Australian Defence Forces.
To assist in this vital role, DMO have been using a Schlumberger Test System since 1991 for the base level (level 3) repair of high-technology battlespace communication equipment. As an integral part of the repair process, this system has provided years of valuable service in the high-throughput repair environment and uses bed-of-nails to test and diagnose faults in electronic circuits. However, as part of a technology refresh program the time was right for DMO to consider a replacement for this key piece of support equipment.
When the DMO considered the options for replacement, a natural contender was the Diagnosys S790 Series2 system. This system is the next generation successor to the older Schlumberger systems and allows test programs to be easily and quickly migrated to the new platform. The S790 Series2 was a natural choice and best fit solution to the DMO requirements.
As a modern and powerful test system, the S790 Series2 provides excellent test and diagnostic capabilities for the DMO. Universal Test Channels in the system allow in-circuit, functional, mixed-signal and boundary scan testing through any of the test channels giving excellent flexibility for future-proof testing of the high-technology circuits.
In addition, the graphic CATE (Computer Aided Test Engineering) software environment allows users to easily release the full capability of the system through context sensitive menu options. With the choice of using the older text environment or enhancing test programs by moving them into the new graphic environment, the DMO can quickly and easily migrate test programs onto the new platform thereby achieving maximum protection of the earlier investment made in test software.
Diagnosys is proud to be able to support the DMO in its mission by providing the S790 Series2 test system into this high-technology repair environment.
About DMO
The Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) was established in 2000 through the merger of the Defence Acquisition Organisation and support command Australia. Defence Materiel Organisation is Australia’s largest project management organisation and its mission is to acquire and sustain equipment for the Australian Defence Force.
